A One-Stop-Shop For Investors For Clearances And Approvals.
While chairing a review meeting of the National Single Window System (NSWS) platform on January 19, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal said that simplicity of operations and transparency should be the focus of the NSWS & there should be complete end-to-end testing of one set of approvals for each of the integrated Ministries on the NSWS portal.
On September 22, 2021, the NSWS was launched for investors and businesses. While launching the facility, the Union Minister said that the launch of the Single Window System is a giant leap towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. The digital platform of NSWS facilitates investors to identify and apply for approvals. It supports information across 32 central ministries/ departments and the platform has 14 States onboard namely Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The process for the inclusion of 6 more states is in progress.
The National Single Window System will become a one-stop-shop for investors for clearances and approvals. All the solutions will be there for all at one click of the mouse through ‘End to End’ facilitation. The portal will bring Accountability, Transparency, and Responsiveness to the ecosystem and all the information will be available on a single dashboard. An applicant dashboard will be available on the portal to apply, track & respond to the queries. The services on the National Single Window System include Common Registration & State Registration Form, Know Your Approval (KYA), Document Repository & E-Communication. As per the Union Minister, the portal is an enabler for businesses. The Indian Government has worked in partnership with stakeholders, industry, and the people and the collective approach has resulted in game-changing initiatives.
The government is taking significant steps such as resolving the angel tax issue, simplification of tax procedures, and self-certification, in a bid to boost the startup ecosystem of the country. At an event organised by IT industry body Nasscom, Goyal said over 26,500 compliances have either been simplified, digitalised or completely removed from the statute and almost 770 offences decriminalised. He called upon India Inc. to aim for raising 75 unicorns in the 75 weeks to the 75th anniversary of Independence next year.
Know Your Approvals (KYA) service is live on the NSWS with 544 approvals across 32 central ministries/ departments. A total of 3,259 approvals are listed. Efforts are in progress to ensure that 13 more ministries/departments are onboarded by March 31, 2022 with another 360 approvals/registrations.
The NSWS should be taken to the Indian diplomatic missions across the world. Today, India holds the attention of the world and the whole world is looking at the country to rise and claim its rightful place as an economic powerhouse. The National Single Window System for investors and businesses will become a one-stop shop for investors for clearances and approvals. It will provide strength to other schemes such as Startup India, Make in India, PLI Scheme, etc.
