Centre To Celebrate "Good Governance Week"
The centre launched a nationwide campaign "Good Governance Week" from December 20 to December 26, in all districts, states and Union Territories, with the motto to redress and dispose of public grievances and improvise service delivery down to the village level. Various events will be convened during the week under the campaign titled "Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur' aimed to be citizen-focused.
The other events which would be convened are Good Governance in the Ministry of External Affairs. Ease of Living and Next phase of Reforms Compliance Burden; Mission Karamyogi - The path Ahead; Experience Sharing Workshop by DARPG on best practices in initiative for increasing Efficiency in Decision Making; and Good Governance Day celebration by the DARPG. Access to an online portal shall be provided to all District Collectors of each state and Union Territories (UTs) to upload and share the progress and achievements. Over 700 district collectors will be participating in the campaign and during the week-long event, they will visit tehsil/Panchayat Samiti; headquarters to provide timely grievance and redressal and improve service delivery.
The activities that are to be taken up by the districts of all states and UTs during the Good Governance Weeks' "Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur" campaign - Organise special camps/events at Tehsil Headquarters/Panchayat Samitis; Redressal of pending backlog public grievances in CPGRAMS; updation of Citizen Charters; Redressal of public grievances in the State Portals; Disposal of applications under improving Service Delivery; Adopt Best Good Governance practices and share them along with requisite pictures on the portal and share one success story per district on the resolution of public grievance on the portal.
Good Governance Week would symbolise the strides made by India in promoting citizen-centric governance and improving service delivery in consonance with 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations to commemorate 75 years of progressive India. The campaign during the good governance week will create a national movement for good governance and inspire future generations.
