The full name of RRB is Railway Recruitment Board. RRB was established in the year 1942, at that time its name was Railway Service Commission. Its name was changed to Railway Recruitment Board in the year 1985. RRB is the largest recruitment board in India, this board conducts examinations for various posts in railways and conducts examinations every year for many posts like NTPC, Group D, Loco Pilot etc.

2. DETAILS OF THE EXAMINATION

RRB NTPC


The full name of RRB NTPC is Railway Recruitment Board, Non Technical Popular Categories. NTPC also known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited was established on 7th November 1975. It is the largest power generation company in India. RRB NTPC conducts the graduation and post 12th examinations in the railway departments of India. RRB NTPC This is the biggest recruitment board in India to provide jobs in the railway department. This board conducts examinations for various posts in the railways.


Educational Qualification

RRB NTPC is a different post, for some posts graduation is necessary and for some posts it is necessary to pass 12th. NTPC exam can be given even after passing 12th.



Age limit

  • The age of the candidate should be between 18 years to 33 years.
  • There is a maximum age relaxation of 3 years for OBC students.
  • There is a maximum age relaxation of 5 years for ST/SC.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

The selection process of NTPC is done at 5 levels which are as follows-


First Stage CBT Test-1

This test is conducted in two languages, in which no relaxation is given to the

reserved category, this test is equal for all. It consists of three papers:-


  • General Awareness - 30 Marks
  • Maths - 30 Marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning - 40 Marks


Phase II CBT Test-2

  • General Awareness - 30 Marks
  • Maths - 30 Marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning - 40 Marks


Typing Test

This is a qualifying test, no marks are given in it, only you have to pass this test. In the Typing Test, 30 words per minute have to be typed in English and 25 words in Hindi.


NTPC Document Verification

After qualifying the exam and clearing all the stages, finally selected candidates are called for document verification. In this, the selected candidates have to see their original documents and the original photocopies of the documents are submitted.


Medical Test

In the end, there is a process of medical test, in this process there are the following types of medical tests-


  • Color Vision Test
  • Binocular Vision Test
  • Field of Vision Test
  • Night Vision Test


After passing all these stages candidates are selected for training and they are given training.


RRB LOCO PILOT

Loco Pilot is also known as Train Driver. Indian Railways is one of the largest railway board in the world. At present, there is a great demand for loco pilots in India. The loco pilot is responsible for the entire train. To become a loco pilot, one has to first become an assistant loco pilot, which comes under Group C and D. The Assistant Loco Pilot assists the Loco Pilot in the train.


Educational Qualification

  • It is necessary to pass 10th and 12th.
  • Must have a degree in IIT or Polytechnic or Engineering.


Age limit

  • The age of the candidate should be between 18 years to 33 years.
  • There is a maximum age relaxation of 3 years for OBC students.
  • There is a maximum age relaxation of 5 years for ST/SC.


Types of Loco Pilot -

There are four types of loco pilots whose details are as follows-


Assistant Loco Pilot-  Assistant Loco Pilot is the one who assists the Loco Pilot in the train. The Assistant Loco Pilot is not given the full weight of the train. The work of assistant loco pilot is mostly done in goods trains.


Senior Assistant Loco Pilot - These are promoted to Senior ALP after 6 or 8 years of experience. Senior ALPs are given the responsibility of running trains and goods trains between neighbouring cities. Senior ALP can also work with Loco Pilot in Express Trains.


Loco Pilot -  Senior ALP after 10 or more than 10 years of experience is appointed to the post of Loco Pilot. They are given the load of express trains, long distance trains.


Power Controller / Loco Supervisor / Crew Controller -

After 15 to 20 years of experience, LPs are appointed in the management and administrative field of Indian Railways. In which the loco supervisor mechanically supervises the train. Staffing a particular train as crew controller and all responsibilities of overseeing electrical repairs on train and station as power controller.


Loco Pilot Selection Process

The selection process of loco pilot is done at 3 levels which are as follows-

Part B- It is based on technical subjects.


Computer Based Personality

This is a qualifying test, no marks are given in it, only you have to pass this test. In the Typing Test, 30 words per minute have to be typed in English and 25 words in Hindi.

In RRB Group D, candidates are recruited for various posts. Group D recruits many posts in railways like Assistant, Helper, Tech Maintainer etc.
